Career
Dr Christoph Schmitt is Partner at BEITEN BURKHARDT's Frankfurt office and member of the practice group Banking, Finance and Capital Markets. He provides advice to institutions and funds on banking and investment law as well as enterprises, foundations, and high net-worth individuals on financing and investment, covering issues of commercial, corporate and foundation law. Dr. Christoph Schmitt is also responsible for financial restructuring together with Heinrich Meyer at the Frankfurt office. His services include financial markets litigation.
Dr Christoph Schmitt studied law at the Universities of Heidelberg and Frankfurt. In 1999 he obtained his doctoral degree in the field of banking law. Prior to joining BEITEN BURKHARDT in July 2012, he was employed with Commerzbank and Credit Suisse in Zurich and Frankfurt, as well as with other German and international law offices.
Dr Christoph Schmitt serves in the city council and is chair of the principal and financial committee of the city of Frankfurt.
