Brussels, 13 November 2017 – Supporting European producers of open mesh glass fibre fabrics, the international corporate law office BEITEN BURKHARDT has obtained a 5 year prolongation of existing anti-dumping duties on imports of open mesh glass fibre fabrics originating in China. Open mesh glass fibre fabrics are mainly used as reinforcing material in the construction industry (external thermal insulation, reinforcement of marble and flooring, wall repairs).

At the industry's request and after 15 months of investigations, the European Commission approved the prolongation of the anti-dumping duties in force. The Commission confirms in its implementing regulation (EU) 2017/1993 of 6 November 2017 the position of the European producers that renewed dumping and material damage to the EU industry are to be expected if the anti-dumping measures cease to be in force. Since 2011, when the duties were imposed, the Commission has extended the duties on imports from Indonesia, Malaysia, Taiwan and Thailand to fight against the circumvention of anti-dumping duties on Chinese products.
