BEITEN BURKHARDT Moscow organized a business breakfast on the topic "Antitrust regulation in Russia: practical application in 2016 and latest trends" in Moscow

Moscow, 2 February – A business breakfast was held on 1st and 2nd of February 2017 in Moscow. Anna Klimova with Alexander Bezborodov from BEITEN BURKHARDT Moscow spoke in front of approximately 46 participants on the topic "Antitrust regulation in Russia: practical application in 2016 and latest trends".

The speakers discussed the following relevant issues:

  • Development of the practice of identifying and proving cartel agreements. Proving the absence of a cartel based on the example of the Pangasius market case;
  • Claims regarding abuse of a dominant position: determination of geographical and product boundaries of a market, the problem of "adjacent markets", based on the example of the Yandex vs. Google case;
  • Trends of imposing penalties for violations of antitrust legislation. Examples of successful reductions in fines;
  • Largest antitrust cases in 2016. Main areas of "interest" for FAS of Russia;
  • Latest trends in antitrust regulation in Russia and abroad: use of technologies to prevent and identify violations of antitrust legislation;
  • Consideration of antitrust offenses through the Eurasian Economic Union.

A lively panel discussion with these experts and participants was held afterwards.
