BEITEN BURKHARDT Advises Lakeward on Project Development in Berlin

Frankfurt am Main, 13 February 2020 – The international commercial law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT has advised the Suisse Family Office Lakeward on the acquisition of a real property for the construction of a new residential quarter with affordable housing. The project, which is to be realised by the end of 2022, is being developed together with the Berlin project developer Belle Époque. SMV is involved on the technical side.

In this transaction, pbb Deutsche Pfandbriefbank which specialises in professional real estate investors and developers is the financing partner with a volume of EUR 87.5 million.

The building project is characterised by above-average quality living space at affordable prices, enabling future residents to live energy-consciously in an urban context. A total of seven apartment buildings are being built in two construction phases on the area between Ferdinand-Schultze-Straße, Schleizer Straße and Plauener Straße. These have a total of around 25,000 sqm of living space, which is divided into some 380 apartments, some of which are bound by rent. An underground car park will offer 160 car parking spaces and 800 bicycle parking spaces - both with appropriate e-mobility facilities. A day care centre for children is also planned.
