BEITEN BURKHARDT Advises Hellenstein SolarWind on Acquisition of a Wind Farm

Munich, 29 March 2021 – The international law firm BEITEN BURKHARDT has advised Hellenstein SolarWind GmbH, a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG group, on the acquisition of five wind turbines of the wind farm Niedergörsdorf in Brandenburg. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction volume.

The wind turbines of the Niedergörsdorf wind farm acquired by Hellenstein SolarWind GmbH have an output of 3,000 kW each. The wind turbines feed more than 34.6 million kilowatt hours (kWh) of CO2-free electrical energy into the grid each year. This amount of regeneratively generated energy covers the annual electricity demand of about 11,500 households and at the same time corresponds to a saving of about 35,900 tonnes of CO2 per year compared to energy generation in a conventional power plant.

After having advised Stadtwerke Heidenheim AG - group on the acquisition of several wind and solar farms in recent years, BEITEN BURKHARDT's team headed by Dr Sebastian Roher was once again retained by Stadtwerke and to comprehensively advise on this transaction. In addition to corporate and energy law, the advisory services rendered by BEITEN BURKHARDT also covered real estate and public law issues.
