The EU General Data Protection Regulation: Compliance risks for PRC based companies, Beijing

The recently implemented European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) aims at the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data, ensuring that European data protection travels with such data. In order to achieve that aim, the GDPR imposes not only various restrictions and documentation requirements but also hefty fines in case of non-compliance.
