Issues of lawyers’ participation in the mediation process are of great current interest. With the development of mediation in Russia, more and more lawyers will be involved in this alternative means of dispute resolution. The advantages and disadvantages of having a lawyer participate in the mediation procedure, the legislative aspects governing such participation, and possible obstacles to this are examined by Sergey Morozov in his article “The Lawyer as Mediator”.
