BEITEN BURKHARDT organized a business breakfast on the topic "Antitrust regulation in Russia: practical application in 2017, anticipated changes and trends"

Moscow, 7 February 2018 – A business breakfast was held in German Centre in Moscow on 7 February 2018, where Alexander Bezborodov and Anna Klimova from BEITEN BURKHARDT spoke for 37 participants on the topic "Antitrust regulation in Russia: practical application in 2017, anticipated changes and trends".

The speakers focused on the following relevant issues:

  • Clarifications of the Presidium of the Federal Antimonopoly Service of Russia for 2017: abuse of dominant position, calculation of the damages caused as result of violations of antitrust legislation.
  • Development of the practice of filing "private" claims regarding violations of antitrust legislation: whether it is worth appealing with FAS against counterparties, competitors/other parties and filing a claim for the reimbursement of the damages that they caused.
  • Planned amendments to antitrust legislation: the new authorities of the Federal Antimonopoly Service and its employees when conducting investigations and audits; the application of antitrust legislation to actions and agreements related to the use of intellectual property, increasing liability for repeated offenses.
  • National Plan for the Development of Competition for 2018-2010: the issues to watch out for and what to prepare for.

The event was followed by a lively discussion, with the speakers answering questions of interest to the guests.
