Liability of Managers, Directors and Supervisors in China - What are you in for when you are in?, Chaoyang

Organizer: German Centre Beijing in cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce and BEITEN BURKHARDT

Managers, directors and supervisors of foreign invested enterprises in China are increasingly concerned about liability risks in China. These concerns are reinforced by the facts that they are operating in an unfamiliar legal environment and by the ever more severe corporate governance rules issued by the Chinese legislators.

In this seminar, we will explain what the actual exposure to liability of directors, managers and supervisors is about: We will discuss the different types of such liability under Chinese law, including the liability towards the shareholder, liability towards third parties and criminal and administrative liability. We will illustrate the risks with cases from areas such as taxation and customs, finance, human resources, and corrupt business practices and offer guidance on how to identify and mitigate these liability risks.

This seminar is of a particular interest for legal representatives, directors, managers, senior executives, supervisors, representatives of representative offices as well as for legal in-house counsels and compliance officers and HR managers.
